FINTRAC registration relates to Canada's anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing framework. Registration does not constitute FINTRAC's endorsement or licensing of the business, a guarantee of customer funds or approval of a particular product. The service described on these Canada pages is limited to the conversion model described in How it works; the registered activity categories do not mean that every possible money transfer service is offered.
Check the FINTRAC MSB registry. Search for CREDIUM DIGITAL LTD. or N300001308.
Regulatory information and separate entities
CREDIUM DIGITAL LTD. is the sole contracting entity for this Canadian service. Credium's Canadian and Bulgarian companies share a brand but maintain separate customer relationships, accounts, books, funds, personal-data access and AML programmes. The shared brand does not give either company automatic access to the other's customer or AML files and does not transfer licences, registrations or contractual obligations between them.
Retail Payment Activities Act
The service described here is limited to exchanging assets as principal and settling those conversions between accounts owned by the same customer. It does not provide an independent payment service, ongoing customer balances or payments to third parties.
Credium's assessment is that the payment steps in this specific model are incidental to the conversion service under the Bank of Canada's published registration criteria. This is the company's assessment of the described service, not an individual ruling, registration or approval from the Bank of Canada. The assessment is specific to this model and does not establish the treatment of a different service.
FINTRAC registration and the RPAA address different obligations. Neither establishes an exemption from other applicable provincial, securities, consumer-protection, privacy or foreign laws. Service availability remains subject to the requirements applicable to the customer and transaction.
